About us

We believe that everyone can play a part in the transformation of society.

We are a network of churches working in local communities alongside people of all faiths and none to support individuals and families in need.

Our mission is to support Love Your Neighbour Hubs with the expertise and resources to be highly impactful centres of social transformation in cities and neighbourhoods across the UK.

Transforming the nation together

Our priorities

We are helping people to overcome pressing social challenges by addressing three key areas:

Crisis

We support those in emergency situations through crisis food provision and other immediate help.

Cause

We identify root causes of poverty and equip people in areas such as debt advice and employment training.

Community

We provide community-based support through ongoing wrap-around care such as mental health groups, drop-in cafés and supportive relationships through the church.

The model

Love Your Neighbour’s unique proposition is to act as a national intermediary which deals centrally and delivers locally by mobilising churches and volunteers, and monitoring and communicating their activity to funders, government, the media and others.

Love Your Neighbour works through a network of 96 Hubs which mobilise and partner with organisations across their town or city, to ensure the needs of the most vulnerable are met through local neighbourly activity, connections and support. Hubs are based in local communities and partner with churches which have existing volunteer bases, relational networks and understanding of local needs. This approach is both community-led and highly scalable – there are more than 40,000 churches in communities across the UK.

Love Your Neighbour’s contribution lies in its ability to operate strategically across three distinct tiers of society:

Hyper- local presence

Harnessing the local power of churches on the frontline of communities.

City-wide partnerships

Multiplying the impact of churches through clustered, city hubs.

National structure

Uniting diverse church networks nationally to act and speak as one.

A prominent moment with Love Your Neighbour was in December, standing on a doorstep - utterly humbled handing over a food box to a lady who I’d had the privilege of taking her son’s funeral. Hearing her say 'thank you' and that she had felt ‘seen’ was something I don’t think I’ll forget.
