Our story

The short story

Founded as a crisis response to the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, Love Your Neighbour has since grown into a collaboration of over 2,500 organisations helping people to overcome pressing social challenges by tackling the root causes of poverty through crisis support, debt advice, employment training and community care across the UK.

Stories from our Hubs

We visited three of our Hubs to hear about their Crisis, Cause and Community initiatives. Listen to our new podcast featuring Alive Church in Gateshead, Hope Church in Hounslow and Saint Mary’s in Southampton.

In our latest film below, we visited St Mary’s Andover, SOUL Church Norwich and Holy Trinity Brompton to find out more about their social food supermarket, Love Ukraine response and wellbeing support as part of their Love Your Neighbour initiatives.

Our values

We believe that love is powerful

At the core of our work is the conviction that love has the power to change lives. We believe that social transformation is possible when people commit to caring for others.

We are committed to unity

Love Your Neighbour works with organisations and churches of every tradition and denomination and together are building relational unity and trust at a local and national level across the UK.

We are passionate about partnership

We believe that the need cannot be met by any single organisation, but as we work in strategic partnerships with other charities and local service providers, we will see lasting and sustainable impact.

We care about impact

Our intention is for the church to demonstrate excellence at the forefront of social impact and are developing best practice models - which identify and respond to local need - in all our areas of outreach.
